Committing a Backup Job by Using the Kill Option

As an administrator, you can use the Kill option to interrupt and commit backup jobs that are running for a long time or are in a pending state. Data that is committed is preserved and can be restored. For more information about controlling jobs, see Jobs.

Eligibility

  • You can commit a backup job when the backup job has multiple paths and at least one path has completed the backup process.

  • When you commit a backup job, all the paths from the backup job that have completed the backup process can be browsed and restored. Partially completed paths cannot be committed and will be backed up during the next incremental backup job.

  • You can terminate and commit a job when the job is running, suspended, pending, queued, or waiting.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Jobs.

    The Active jobs page appears.

  2. In the Actions column for the job, click the action button action_button, and then click Kill.

When the next backup job is performed, any data that was marked as failed for the original backup job is included in the next backup.
