Complete the Databases Guided Setup for Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB

The Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB guided setup takes you through the process of configuring the server and adding a cloud instance.

Before You Begin

Create a backup plan. For more information, see Creating a Backup Plan.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Guided setup.

    The Welcome page appears.

  2. On the Protect tab, click Configure on the Databases tile.

    The Configure Database Server page appears.

  3. Click Database running in the cloud ( PaaS ).

  4. Click Microsoft Azure, and then click NEXT.

    The Configure Azure Database page appears.

  5. Select Cosmos DB, and then click NEXT.

    The Select A Plan page appears.

  6. From the Plan list, select the backup plan to use for the instance, and then click NEXT.

    The Cloud Account page appears.

  7. From the API list, select MongoDB API.

  8. From the Cloud account list, select the Azure account that you want to use for the instance, and then click NEXT.

    The instance details page appears.

  9. From the Region list, select the region for the instance.

  10. In the Instance box, enter a name for the instance.

  11. In the Collection group box, enter a name for the table group, and then click NEXT.

    The Backup Content page appears.

  12. To filter the content that is backed up, click EDIT, select or clear the tables, and then click SAVE.

  13. Click NEXT to create the cloud instance.

    A summary page is displayed.

  14. Review the summary, and then click FINISH.
