You can automatically upload copies of DR backups to the Commvault Cloud Services Portal.
If you need to rebuild the CommServe server, and both the CommServe server and the destination are unusable — such as after a ransomware attack — you can use the DR backup in the cloud.
Note
-
DR backups are uploaded and stored in Azure, directly from your CommServe.
-
5 DR backup copy, with the latest Differential copy (if any), is retained in the cloud for 90 days.
For additional information on how DR Backups are stored and managed, see Uploading DR Backups to Commvault Cloud.
Before You Begin
-
Verify that the CommServe computer is registered to access Commvault Cloud Services.
For information about creating a new cloud user account and associating it with your CommServer server, see Registering a CommServe Server on the Cloud Services Portal.
For information about associated an existing cloud user account with CommServe server, see Associating Users with a CommServe Server.
-
Verify that the URLs, https://*.blob.core.windows.net and https://cvdrservices.metallic.io, are added to the allowlist. All endpoints that contain .blob.core.windows.net must be whitelisted on the Commserve machine. Additionally, verify that https://cvdrservices.metallic.io is allowlisted on all Commvault web server machines.
-
If the CommServe network uses HTTPS inspection or if an HTTP proxy is configured and has its own certificate-signing CA, add the root CA to the curl-ca-bundle.crt file in the base directory to avoid any verification failure. For more information, see KB article 59941.
