Controlling Job Activities in Command Center

You can control the job activities at the CommCell level from the Command Center.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > CommCell.

    The CommCell details page appears.

  2. Under Activity control tile, modify the toggle keys based on the requirement:

    • All job activity: When enabled, all operations run within the CommCell environment. When disabled, data management, data recovery, auxiliary copy, data aging, deduplication, Disaster Recovery backup, scheduled export media, scheduled reports, quick and full inventory (in a blind library) and Content Indexing operations are disabled.

    • Data backup: When enabled, the backup job operations run within the CommCell environment. When disabled, data backup operations are disabled.

    • Data restore: When enabled, the restore job operations run within the CommCell environment. When disabled, data restore operations are disabled.

    • Data aging: When enabled, data aging operations are allowed in the CommCell environement. When disabled, data aging operations are disabled, and the Enable after a Delay option appears to the right side of this operation activity. It allows you to pre-determine the date and time at which data aging operations must begin on the CommCell environment.

    • Auxillary copy: When enabled, auxiliary copy operations are allowed in the CommCell environement. When disabled, auxiliary copy operations are disabled, and the Enable after a Delay option appears to the right side of this operation activity. It allows you to pre-determine the date and time at which auxillary copy operations must begin on the CommCell environemnt.

    • Scheduler: When enabled, all scheduled jobs are allowed to occur in the CommCell environment. When disabled, all scheduled jobs are disabled, and the Enable after a Delay option appears to the right side of this operation activity. It allows you to pre-determine the date and time at which scheduled jobs must begin on the CommCell environment.

    • Data verification: When enabled, data verification operations on backup and archive operations are allowed in the CommCell environment. During a data verification operation, data is checked to see that it is valid for recovering and for being successfully copied during an auxiliary copy operation. Note that the data verification is not set by default for any agents.
