Air Gap Protect storage isolates your backup data in a secure, time-based container that prevents unauthorized access and deletion. You create storage for a specific copy of a backup, which is specified in a backup plan.
When you create Air Gap Protect storage, the storage has a single container (available on the Backup locations tab for the storage). When the container reaches 2 PB, Commvault marks it as Full and creates a new container.

- Frequent access: Use for backups that need regular or rapid restores, such as databases and VMs. Only frequent access can be used as an auxiliary copy source.
- Infrequent access: Use for backups that are rarely restored (a 30-day minimum is required), such as compliance archives and historical project data.
- Archive: Use for data that is no longer actively used in daily operations but must remain available for recovery, if required, for regulatory or compliance purposes.

Leave Use deduplication enabled and select a MediaAgent for the deduplication database (DDB) that's in the same location (region) you select for the storage.
