Create a Self-Installing 1-Touch ISO

Create a self-installing 1-Touch ISO file if a UNC share path is not available. Use the following procedure to prepare the WinPE 10 environment, add required drivers, and generate a self-installing ISO that includes the 1-Touch response.

Before you begin

  • Download the WinPE 10 ISO from the Software Store.

  • Copy the ISO to a Windows machine where the File System Advanced package, File System Agent, or the Windows client you plan to protect is installed.

Prepare the WinPE environment

  1. On the client, go to <Commvault Installation Folder>\ContentStore\Base\OneTouch.exe.

  2. Select 1-Touch Boot CD Wizard, and then select Next.

  3. Select x64 (64-bit processor), and then select Next.

  4. To add drivers:

  5. Select Add, and browse to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository.

  6. Select at least one driver folder, and then select Add again.

  7. Select Next, and then select Next.

  8. Select the source ISO, and then set a destination ISO in the Save in field.

  9. Select Done to create the new ISO.

  10. After the wizard completes, delete the newly created ISO.

This step ensures that only the self-installing ISO is used later.

Create a self-installing ISO

  1. Create a 1-Touch response file for the server you want to rebuild, and copy the file to the client.

  2. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator.

  3. Navigate to ...\ContentStore\SystemRecovery\Images.

  4. Run extractISO.bat.

  5. Create a folder named Mount under ...\ContentStore\SystemRecovery\Images\Windows x64\BOOT_IMAGE\Mount.

  6. Close any open Explorer window for this folder, or navigate back to ...\ContentStore\SystemRecovery.

  7. Run MountWim.bat.

  8. Copy the response file into ...\ContentStore\SystemRecovery\Images\Windows x64\BOOT_IMAGE\Mount\CVBMR\OneTouch.

    Example:

    OnetouchResponse_wfs_1684140933824.xml

  9. Close any open Explorer window for this folder, or navigate back to ...\ContentStore\SystemRecovery.

  10. Run UnMountWim.bat.

  11. Run CreateISO.bat.

A new ISO containing the embedded response file is created in the destination that you defined during the preparation stage.
