You can create a Microsoft Windows cluster database server or a UNIX cluster database server so that you can manage the cluster.
Procedure
-
From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Overview page appears.
-
In the upper-right area of the page, click Add Server.
The Configure Database Server page appears.
-
Select Cluster Database Server, and click Next.
The Add DB Cluster Server dialog box appears.
-
In the Server configuration section, enter the following information:
-
In the Cluster name box, type the name of the cluster database server.
-
In the Cluster hostname box, enter the cluster hostname.
This must be an IP address or hostname that moves with the database to the active node during a switch or failover. It should be configured in the database's cluster resource group.
-
Select the OS Type.
-
-
Click Next.
The Select A Plan dialog box appears.
-
For the Plan list, select the backup plan that you want to back up the storage resources of the cluster database server, and click Next.
The Cluster Group dialog box appears.
-
In the Cluster group section, enter the following details:
-
From the Agent Type list, select the database agent for which you want to configure the cluster server.
-
From the Nodes list, select the physical nodes (active and passive) which will make up the cluster database server configuration.
-
In the Job storage cache box, type the path for the job results directory.
This directory must be a filesystem on shared storage that is mounted and will be available on whichever server is the active node, even if a switch or failover occurs.
-
If all the physical nodes which will make up the cluster database server are reachable over the network, move the Force sync configuration on remote nodes toggle key to the right to synchronize the configuration on all the nodes.
If all the nodes are not reachable, when they all become reachable you can synchronize the configuration by using the toggle key in the Edit cluster group dialog box. That dialog box is available by clicking the Edit button
in the Cluster group section of the Configuration tab of the cluster database server's properties window.
