To manage a GaussDB (DWS), create a client for the database server.
Before You Begin
Install Commvault software on the GaussDB (DWS) Roach client nodes.
Note

Make sure that the Commvault software is installed with sufficient permissions and correct UNIX group.

Make sure that the host entry exists for each node.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Database overview page appears.

From the Add instance dropdown, Select Database Server.
The Configure Database Instance page appears.

Select MultiNode Database and click NEXT.
The Add MultiNode Database instance dialog box appears.

Enter the following information:

Client name: Enter a pseudo client name.

Database hosts: Select database host(s) from the list of clients.

Database server: Select a database server type.

Instance name: Enter the instance name.

Database name: Enter the database name.

Plan: Select a backup plan.
The backup plan specifies where the software backs up the application data.

Credential: Select or add credential to login to the specified database host(s).

Database home directory: Select or enter the path where the database application software is installed on the selected database hosts.

Click Add.
Note
An additional setting with format sCVXBSAConfig_(instancename)_(databasename) gets pushed under Commvault iDataAgent registry section for each host. You need to specify this setting as part of Roach backup command so that Commvault identifies the client and backupset to which this backup should be associated with.
