You can create an instance group for the Amazon RDS instances that you want to back up.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Overview page appears.

On the Instances tab, click the instance that you want to add the database group to.
The instance properties page appears.

On the Instance groups tab, click Create instance group.
The Create instance group dialog box appears.

In the Instance group box, type a name for the instance group.

From the Plan list, select a backup plan for the group.

To add complete regions and instances within regions, in the Backup content section, click Add instances.
The Browse backup content dialog box appears.

Select regions or expand a region to select instances within a region.

Click SAVE.

To discover instances based on a rule, click Add instance rule.
The Add instance rule dialog box appears. Select one of the following options for defining a rule for instance discovery:

To use a rule based on instance name, complete the following steps:

From the Select rule type list, select InstanceRule.

From the Which matches with list, select the rule that you want to apply.
For example, to discover instances that match a specific name, select Equals.

In the Name box, type the keyword on which you want to match the instance name.

Click SAVE.

To use a rule based on a tag name, complete the following steps:

From the Select rule for list, select TagRule.

In the Tag name box, type the tag name for the rule.

In the Tag value box, type the tag value to use to match the tag name for the instances.

Click SAVE.

What to Do Next
You can replicate an instance group to a client that has the secondary snapshot copy option enabled. You can enable replication for the instance group by displaying the instance group properties, moving the Replication toggle key to the right, and then specifying the source region and the destination region.
