Enabling IntelliSnap Backups for Oracle

You can enable IntelliSnap backups for an Oracle subclient.

Before You Begin

Verify that the environment meets the system requirements for IntelliSnap backups. See IntelliSnap Backup: System Requirements.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database overview page appears.

  2. On the Instances tab, click the instance.

    The instance page appears.

  3. To select the subclient, on the Subclients tab, click the subclient name.

    The subclient properties page appears.

  4. In the Snapshot management section, move the Enable snap backup toggle key to the right.

    The Snapshot management dialog box appears.

  5. From the Engines list, select the snapshot engine to use.

  6. In the Additional options section, from the Access node for snap operations list, select the access node to be used for snap operations.

    If you select None as the access node, by default the source MediaAgent will be used as the access node for snapshot operations.

  7. If you want to specify an access node to use for backup copy operations, from the Separate access node for backup copy list, select the access node to use for making backup copies.

  8. If you want to use the source system for making the snapshot if the access node is not reachable, move the Use source if access node is unreachable toggle key to the right.

  9. To enable creation of an RMAN image copy, select RMAN image copy and enter the path where it will be stored.

  10. From the Backup copy interface list, select the interface to use.

  11. Click SAVE.
