A MediaAgent provides high performance data movement and manages the data storage. For scalability, you can create and install more than one MediaAgent in a CommCell environment.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

   The Infrastructure page appears.

2. Click the MediaAgents tile.

   The MediaAgents page appears.

3. In the upper-right corner, click Add MediaAgent.

   The Add MediaAgent dialog box appears.

4. Select the cloud vendor.

5. Select the Deployment Type and provide the required configuration information.

6. Copy the generated link, and then open it in a browser.

7. On the vendor console, provide the cloud infrastructure details and create the instance.

8. When prompted, provide the following CommServe registration details:

   • Auth code: The CommServe registration authentication code
   • CS host name: The host name of the CommServe
   • CS name: The name of the CommServe

   The system creates the virtual machine and registers it with the CommServe.

   After the MediaAgent is registered, it is visible under the MediaAgent list.
