Licensing and Usage for Granular Recovery for Active Directory (Enterprise Edition)

Active Directory and Azure Active Directory are licensed based on the total number of enabled user accounts.

If both Active Directory domain(s) and Azure AD tenant(s) are being managed with the software, licenses are required for all enabled user accounts in the Active Directory domain(s) being managed with the product. An Active Directory domain is being managed by the product when there is a Commvault agent installed on at least one of the domain controllers in that domain. An enabled user account is any user account in Active Directory which has not been set to disabled.

If only Azure AD tenants are being managed with the software, and there are no Active Directory domains being managed, licenses are required for all enabled user accounts in the Azure AD tenants. An enabled user account is any user account with a UserType of "Member". User accounts with a UserType of "Guest" are not counted for licensing purposes. An Azure AD tenant is being managed by the product if it has been configured for backups in Commvault.

If only Active Directory tenants are being managed with the software, licenses are required for all enabled user accounts in the Active Directory domain(s) being managed with the product.
