Performing a Data Aging Operation

The data aging operation consists of two main activities:

  • Aging: Identifies and marks jobs as aged once they have exceeded their defined retention period.

  • Pruning: Physically removes eligible jobs from disk storage or recycles tapes when all jobs on a tape have been marked as aged.

By default, the data aging operation is scheduled to run daily at 12:00 PM. However, this schedule can be customized as needed, and multiple data aging operations can be configured to run at different times if required. Managed Service Provider (MSP) admin or user can also schedule a data aging operation.
