You can restore an Exchange database to a different location, either on the same destination server or on a different destination server within the same Exchange organization. This type of restore operation is called an “out-of-place restore operation”.
Note
You can perform the restore operation on a default subclient or a user-defined subclient that was backed up at least one time.
Before You Begin
Verify that the database that you want to restore is dismounted and marked for overwrite.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Exchange.
The Exchange page appears.

Click an Exchange database.
The Exchange Database page appears.

On the Subclients tab, for the subclient that you want to restore, click the action button
, and then click Restore > Restore database.
A link for the Microsoft Information Store appears.

Click Microsoft Information Store.
A list of databases appears.

Select the databases that you want to restore, and then at the top of the page, click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appears.

Leave Exchange Database selected, and under Exchange Account, select Restore the data to another location.

From the Destination host list, select the Exchange server to restore the database to.

From the Member server list, select the member server to restore the database to.

Under Destination DB, for each database, select the destination database to restore to.

Click Submit.
