You can restore data out of place, to a different folder on the same Exchange Mailbox server that is was backed up on or to a different Exchange Mailbox server. When you restore data out of place, the restored data inherits the rights permissions of the parent directory.
Before You Begin
When you restore data to a different Exchange Mailbox server:

The source and destination server must reside in the same CommCell environment.

The destination server must have the application installed on it.

If a mailbox is selected as the out-of-place destination, all the selected messages are restored to the Inbox of that specific mailbox.

If a folder is selected as the out-of-place destination, all the selected messages are restored to that specific folder in the mailbox.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Exchange.
The Exchange page appears.

Click the Exchange client that contains the mailbox that you want to restore.
The Exchange client page appears.

On the Mailboxes tab, select the mailboxes that you want to restore.

Click Restore > Restore mailbox.
The Restore options dialog box appears.
Messages

On the Mailboxes tab, select the mailbox that has the messages that you want to restore.

Click Restore, and then select Restore messages.
The backup content page appears.

Select the check box next to the mailbox items, messages, or public folders that you want to restore.

Click Restore, and then click Items in current page.
The Restore options dialog box appear.
Public folders
-
On the Content tab, select the check boxes next to the public folders that you want to restore.

In the upper-right corner, click the action button
, and then click Restore.The backup content page appears.

Select the check boxes next to the public folders that you want to restore.

Click Restore.
The Restore options dialog box appear.

Select Restore the data to another location, and then enter the destination mailbox, folder, or a different public folder.

Specify whether to overwrite existing data:
-
To overwrite any existing messages, under Message options, select Overwrite unconditionally.

To prevent an item that already exists from being overwritten, under Message options, select Skip.

Click Submit.
