The Sybase environment uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection.
If you use encryption keys for an SSL-enabled configuration, make sure the SSL certificates are added to the JRE keystore file; otherwise, backups may fail. For more information about running Sybase backups, go to Sybase backups on the SAP website. You need an SAP user ID to log on to the website.
-
You can back up an SSL-enabled Sybase database server.
-
For an SSL-enabled Sybase system database restore or a full database server restore, complete the following steps:
-
Remove the SSL filter from the interfaces file.
-
Perform the full database server restore.
-
After the restore is completed, add the SSL filter back to the interfaces file.
-
Restart the database server.
