Browsing and Restoring Messages Using Exchange Mailbox

Plan your restore operations according to your requirements.

Only the most recently archived state of the messages can be browsed and restored. For example, if a message is archived in its unread state, and then archived again in its read state, only the message that was archived in the read state can be browsed and restored. In these procedures, the browse is initiated from the subclient level.

You can browse for the items that you want to restore from the backup set, the subclient, or the mailbox level.

Destination Clients

The items that appear in the Destination host list depend on where you want to restore the messages.

  • When you select Mailbox, the available destination clients are the available Exchange Mailbox servers.

  • When you select PST File or Disk, the available destination hosts are the physical clients.
