Performing an IBM i File System Agent Restore to a New Library, Directory or Folder

You can restore files to a different folder from the source backup folder.

If you want to find and restore specific data, see Find.

Note

If you select more than one library to restore to a different single path, then the software restores all of the objects that are under the selected libraries to the same destination path. If this behavior is not your intention, perform an in-place restore to restore the data to the same library that you backed up, or select one library at a time and restore that library to a different library name.

The operating system restrictions are applicable when you restore to a different location. For example

  • You cannot restore the system library "/QSYS.LIB" or its content to "/QDLS" or "/*". The same holds true if you try to restore "/QDLS" or "/*" to "/QSYS.LIB".

  • The restore of a library inside another library is restricted.

  • The restore of the journal object to a different library is restricted.

The default is 1 and keeps the lowest level.
