Prerequisites for Using the Content Indexing Feature on File System Clients

Applies to: Windows File System Agent and UNIX File System Agent

To content index files that are backed up using the File System Agent, you must have the following packages installed on the client computer:

  1. Verify if you installed the advanced File System Agent package.

  2. Install the High Availability Computing (HAC) package on the client computer. For instructions, see Creating an HAC Cluster for Index Server Cloud.

  3. Create an Index Store Pool for Index Server Cloud. For instructions, see Creating an Index Store Pool for Index Server Cloud.

  4. Create an Index Server Cloud. For instructions, see Creating an Index Server Cloud.

Data Access Nodes Requirements

Data access nodes are computers that are used to read the backed up data available in the media and to push the data for content indexing. The data access nodes must have the Web Server package or the Index Gateway package installed.

Note

Make sure that the Content Extractor package is installed on the data access nodes. The Content Extractor package is automatically installed with the Index Gateway package.

Limitations

  • Case Manager for Compliance Officers is not supported.

  • Review Sets in Compliance Search is not supported.
