Restoring an Exchange Database to the Same Location

You can restore an Exchange database to the same location from where it was backed up. This type of restore operation is called an “in-place restore operation”.

Note

You can perform the restore operation on a default subclient or a user-defined subclient that was backed up at least one time.

Before You Begin

  • Verify that the database that you want to restore is dismounted and marked for overwrite.

  • Suspend the database copy so that replication does not occur during the restore operation.

  • You can restore Exchange databases only to the same version of Exchange from which the database was backed up. For example, you can restore an Exchange 2013 database to an Exchange 2013 server, but not to an Exchange 2010 server.

    The Exchange page appears.

  2. Click an Exchange database.

    The Exchange Database page appears.

    • To use a backup from a date range, click Show backups for a date range, select a date range, and then select the backup.
