Running an Exchange Mailbox Content Indexing Job

Typically, content indexing jobs are run according to the schedule defined in the server plan. This procedure describes the general steps for running a content indexing job on-demand.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation pane, expand Solutions > Exchange Apps, and then click the Email Archiving App or Email Journaling App.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To content index a mailbox, click on the App and selectMailboxes from the mailboxes list, on the upper-right corner, click on Run Jobs and then click Run content indexing.

    • To archive all mailboxes that belong to an AD group or database, click on the App and select the AD groups or databases from the Auto Discover Associations list, on the upper-right corner, click on Run Jobs and then click Run content indexing.

    The content indexing job starts running immediately.
