Use this dialog box to enable or disable backup or restore operations on a selected client computer, client computer group, or agent. Some of the options that are described on this page might not be available. Also, only the options that apply to the agent are displayed in the dialog box.

For the File Archiver for Windows Agent, use this dialog box to enable or disable data classification.

If backup or restore operations are disabled at the client computer group level or the client level, then operations below these levels are also disabled.
Data Management and Recovery Activity
Enable Backup/Archive/QR Volume Creation
Specifies whether data management operations (backups/archive/QR Volume Creation) occur for this client computer group, client computer, or agent.
If you clear this check box, the following are true:

The Enable after a Delay button appears to the right side of this operation activity. It allows you to specify the date and time at which data management operations begin on the selected client computer group, client computer, or agent.

Data management operations from this client computer group, client computer, agent, or subclient cannot be started and are skipped.
-
Running and waiting data management operations for this client computer group, client computer, or agent run to completion.
-
Stopped data management operations for this client computer group, client computer, or agent cannot be resumed until this check box is selected.

Pending data management operations for this client computer group, client computer, or agent do not run until this check box is selected.
Enable Restore/Retrieve/QR Volume Recovery
Specifies whether data recovery operations (restores/retrieve/QR Volume Recovery) will occur from this client computer group, client computer or agent.
If you clear this check box, the following are true:

The Enable after a Delay button appears to the right side of this operation activity. It allows you to specify the date and time at which data recovery operations begin on the selected client computer group, client computer, or agent.

Data recovery operations for this client computer group, client computer, or agent cannot be started and are skipped.

Running data recovery operations for this client computer group, client computer, or agent run to completion.

Pending data recovery operations for this client computer group, client computer, or agent do not run until data recovery operations are enabled.
Administration Activity
Enable Data Aging
When you select this check box, data aging operations are allowed on the client computer or client computer group. When you clear this check box:

Data aging operations are skipped on the client computer or client computer group.

The Enable after a Delay button is displayed beside this operation activity. Use the button to specify the date and time at which data aging operations on a client computer or client computer group can begin in the CommCell environment.
Manage Windows OS updates
Note
This option is available only for backup appliances, CommServe servers, Web Servers, and MediaAgents at the client level.
Specifies whether Windows OS updates can be automatically installed on a client when you install Commvault service packs and hotfixes.
Manage Microsoft SQL Server updates
Note
This option is available only for backup appliances, CommServe servers, and Web Servers at the client level.
Specifies whether Microsoft SQL Server updates can be automatically installed on a client when you install Commvault service packs.
Enable Discover
Specifies whether discovery operations will occur.
