Configuring Software Compression on the Replication Set

Data being replicated can be compressed between the source and destination computers. When compression is enabled, data is compressed on the source computer, replicated across the network to the destination computer, and uncompressed on the destination computer, thereby reducing the network load.

About This Task

Compression for replication is specified on the Replication Set, and applies to all of its Replication Pairs.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Continuous Data Replicator on Windows or UNIX.

  2. Right-click the appropriate replication set and click Properties.

  3. In the Edit Properties of Replication Set dialog box, click the Replication Options tab, and then select Compression ON.

  4. Click OK.
