Instances are the structures that identify and manage a group of DB2 databases. By default, after you install the DB2 Agent, there are no instances in the CommCell Console. After you install the DB2 Agent or add a new instance on the DB2 host, discover or add instances in the CommCell Console.
You can discover DB2 instances manually or automatically. For each instance that you discover, an instance is created in the CommCell Console.
