Getting started with Oracle includes completing the Database guided setup and performing a test backup and restore.
Complete the Databases Guided Setup
To add the first database in your Command Center environment, use the Databases guided setup. In the Command Center, go to Guided setup > Databases.
To complete the guided setup, you need the following information:

The server name

The host name

The credentials that you use to access the server

The packages that you want to install, such as Oracle

If you are configuring a database that uses a pseudoclient, you must manually install the packages on the physical servers before you use the guided setup. For more information, see Adding a New Server.
Prepare for a Test Backup and Restore

If you did not add an Oracle database server in the Databases guided setup, then add an Oracle database server.

If Oracle databases are up when a server is added, the Oracle instances are discovered automatically. Consequently, the necessary subclients are automatically created, and automatic schedules are associated with the subclients, as follows.

Continuous incremental backups are scheduled. The first backup is a full backup, and a full backup is run weekly.

Archive log backups are scheduled every four hours by default.

If Oracle databases are not up when adding a server, manually add the Oracle instance.

Determine the alerts that you want the software to trigger.

Perform the Test Backup and Restore
The first online full backup is automatically scheduled based on the assigned plan.
After the backup operation is complete, perform a restore.
