Review each of the topics to get started with SQL.
Step 1: Obtain Your User Credentials and Database Protection Information
Obtain the following information from your backup administrator:
-
The Command Center URL
-
Your Command Center user credentials
Step 2: Log on to the Command Center
Access the Command Center by using the URL that was displayed on the installation completion page, or that you received from your backup administrator.
Step 3: Complete the Database Application Setup Wizard
Configure the Database application by completing the DB Instances Setup Wizard.
Step 4: Perform the Initial Configuration
-
Add a SQL server. For more information, see Adding a SQL Server.
-
Add a SQL instance. For more information, see Adding SQL Instances.
When you add a SQL Server, you associate a server plan with the server. The Commvault software automatically performs the backup operations by using the schedule and backup operation types that are associated with the plan.
Step 5: Perform the Restore Operation
The Commvault software automatically performs the backup operations by using the plan that you associate with the SQL Server or database. The plan determines how often the software backs up the data and the logs.
After the backup completes, you can perform a restore operation. For more information, see SQL Restore Operations.
