Feature releases (formerly "service pack") or maintenance releases (formerly "hot fix pack") can be installed in both the production and standby CommServe hosts.
Before You Begin

Download the Commvault Feature Release or Maintenance Release. For instructions, see Downloading Software Using the CommCell Console.

Review Prerequisites for Feature Release Installations Using the CommCell Console.

The following procedure applies to CommServe with Service Pack 14 (or above). For more information on checking the CommServe version, see Viewing the Feature Release Details for One or More Clients. (View the information associated with CommServe client.)
Procedure

Install the feature release on the Production CommServe host. For more information on installing feature releases on the production CommServe hosts, see Installing a Feature Release on the Production CommServe During a Maintenance Failover.

From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computer Groups > CSLive Sync > CVLiveSync.

Right-click then CVLiveSync client group and then click All Tasks > Add/Remove Software > Update Software.

In the Update Software dialog box, Select the necessary option and then click OK.

Result

An Install Updates job will be started. You can monitor the progress of the job from the Job Controller window.

Feature release will be installed on the following instances:

SQL Client on the production CommServe host
-
SQL Client on the standby CommServe host

CommServe client in the standby CommServe host. instance. (The feature release installation will automatically detect the necessary updates on the CommServe host.)
