Managing VM Group Content for Amazon

For an existing VM group, you can add instances or modify the content selections.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtualization.

    The Virtual machines page appears.

  2. On the Hypervisors tab, click the hypervisor.

    The hypervisor page appears.

  3. Click a VM group.

    The VM group page appears.

  4. In the Content section, click Manage.

    The VM group content dialog box appears.

  5. To modify instance credentials for application-aware backups, click action_button in the Actions column of the row for the instance, and then select Edit Credentials.

  6. To remove an instance, click action_button in the Actions column of the row for the instance and select Remove.

  7. To add VM group content, click Add virtual machines.

    The Add virtual machines page appears.

  8. Select a browse method for the Browse and select VMs list, and then expand the tree below the list to select instances or instance types for the VM group, or to clear previous selections.

    You can select a view from the list to control the browse display.

  9. Click OK after selecting instances or other objects.

  10. To discover instances automatically, click Add rule, and then define the rule.

  11. To edit a rule, click action_button in the Actions column of the row for the instance and select Edit rule.

  12. Click Preview to see a list of the instances that will be backed up.

  13. Click OK to save the changes to VM group content.
