A name management operation is the process of updating the name of a CommServe, MediaAgent, or client. There are two types of names used by the software:

Client Name: The name of the client that is registered on the client's operating system and uniquely identifies the client in the CommCell environment. For more information, see Client Name.

Display Name: The name that is used to label a clients in the software management consoles. For more information, see Display Name.
You can view both the client name and display name for a client from the client computer properties dialog box in the CommCell Console.
