Obtaining the Engine ID for the CommServe Host

If your SNMP Version 3 (SNMPv3) receiver software requires the sender engine ID, you can configure the EvMgrS.log to return the engine ID for the CommServe host.

Procedure

  1. To the CommServe computer, add the bLogSNMPEngineId additional setting as shown in the following table.

  2. For the EvMgrS.log, set the debug level to 5.

  3. Set up an SNMP notification, and trigger the alert.

  4. Open the EvMgrS.log to view the engine ID.

  5. Use the engine ID to configure your SNMPv3 receiver software as instructed by the software provider.
