Guided Setup for Azure Stack Hub

The Virtualization guided setup guides you through creating a server plan, adding a hypervisor, and adding a VM group.

Before You Begin

Procedure

  1. If the setup page is not displayed, from the navigation pane, click Guided setup.

  2. After you complete the core setup, on the Protect tab, click the Virtualization tile.

  3. On the Create server backup plan page, type a name for the plan, then provide information about storage, retention, and backup schedules. For more information, see Creating a Server Plan.

    If you configured a server backup plan as part of the Core Setup, the wizard skips this page.

  4. Click Save.

    The Add hypervisor page appears.

  5. Provide the following information:

    1. Select vendor: Select Azure Stack Hub.

    2. Hypervisor name: Enter a descriptive name for the hypervisor.

    3. Enter host or account information:

      • Authentication Type: Select one of the following deployment types: Azure Active Directory or Active Directory Federation Services.

      • Resource Manager URL: Type the web site address that will be used to communicate with your Azure Stack environment.

      • Subscription ID: Enter the subscription ID for your Azure account.

      • For the traditional method of deployment:

      • Tenant ID: Enter the tenant ID associated with the Azure account.

      • Application ID: Enter the application ID associated with the tenant.

      • Application password: Enter the password for the application.

    4. Access node: Select an Azure virtual machine in the region to be protected.

  6. Click Save.

  7. On the Add VM group page, type a descriptive name to identify the VM group, and then select virtual machines to be protected.

  8. Click Save.

  9. To finish, choose one of the following options:

    • Click Back up Now to perform an immediate backup of the virtual machines in the VM group (without requiring confirmation).

      The Job details page appears and displays job status information.

    • Click Do it later to go to the hypervisor page without performing a backup.
