A CommCell environment can function as an identity provider (IdP) for service CommCell environments. A CommCell environment becomes an IdP when you add service CommCell environments to it and specify that you want the CommCell environment to function as an IdP.
After you make a CommCell environment an IdP, the companies, the identity providers, the user groups, and the users of the service CommCell environments that you add to the IdP CommCell environment are automatically associated with the IdP CommCell environment.
You cannot create companies or identity providers on service CommCell environments. You can create only user groups and users on service CommCell environments.
