Restoring Virtual Machine Files for Azure

You can restore the virtual machine configuration and disk (VHD) files to a specific path an access node/backup gateway.

Before You Begin

If a passkey is configured for restores, you must have the passkey.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtualization.

    The Virtual machines page appears.

  2. On the Hypervisors tab, click the hypervisor.

    The hypervisor page appears.

  3. Under VM groups, in the row for the VM group that contains the virtual machine, click the action button, and then click Restore.

  4. On the Select restore type page, select Virtual machine files.

    The Restore page appears.

  5. Select the content to restore, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  6. To provide credentials for another user account, use the Impersonate user option.

    By default, the Local System account on the destination client is used to perform the restore operation. The user must have permissions to create files in the specified location on the destination.

  7. In the Path box, enter the full path to the location to restore the data to.

  8. To delete existing files and replace them with restored files, select Overwrite if it already exists.

  9. Click Submit.
