Configuring pRDM Mounts

To configure the environment for physical raw device mapping (pRDM) mount operations, ensure that the vCenter is a CommCell client, configure the access node, and then configure the pRDM using the Snapshot management tile. You can enable pRDM mount operations on a Proxy server or MediaAgent using the Snapshot management tile either from the associated Proxy server or MediaAgent page.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure that the MediaAgent where the proxy mount host is configured is a VMware guest VM.

  • Proxy MA used for pRDM mount must have MediaAgent package installed along with VSA package. If VSA package is not installed, it will use the access node set up on vCenter where proxy VM machine resides.

  • Ensure that you have the vCenter as a CommCell client.

  • At the VMware vCenter instance level, configure an access node where proxy MediaAgent is created.
