With the physical raw device mapping (pRDM) mount operation, you can mount snapshots directly on VMs that do not have dedicated Fibre Channel (FC) adapters, without using a physical computer as a proxy computer for mount operation.
As part of pRDM mount operations, the snapshot is mapped on the ESXi host, and then made available on the VM.
For a list of supported snapshot engines and agents, see pRDM Mount Operation.
Note
Starting with Commvault Platform Release 2025 (11.38), the bPerformRDMMount and sVCenterNameForVM additional settings that are used to enable pRDM mount operation are removed. You can directly enable the pRDM mount from the Servers or MediaAgents page. For more information, see Configuring pRDM Mounts.
