You can restore full Amazon EC2 instances or guest files and folders, or restore an Amazon EBS volume and attach it to a new or existing Amazon EC2 instance.

You can configure an Amazon EC2 VM group to perform IntelliSnap backups. From the snap or backup copy, you can restore full EC2 instances, restore an EBS volume and attach it to an existing EC2 instance, and restore guest files and folders.

For full VM restores from IntelliSnap backups, Commvault neither explicitly performs nor waits for volume initialization.

Fast snapshot restores (FSRs) are not supported.

To restore Amazon EC2 instances that have UEFI boot mode enabled, a UEFI-enabled Amazon Machine Image (AMI) must be present in the destination AWS account.

If an access node running Windows is used for the operation, the Amazon folder under the Commvault install_directory must contain the AWSPVDriverSetup.msi and Ec2Install.exe components.
