You need to create a storage policy for SnapVault and SnapMirror.
Before You Begin
Use the following table to gather the information that you need when you create a storage policy for SnapVault or SnapMirror.

Procedure

Configure SnapVault with NetApp command lines.
Caution
To avoid risk of data loss, you must complete the NetApp command lines before proceeding.

From the CommCell Browser, go to Policies > Storage Policies.

Right-click Storage Policies, and then click New Storage Policy.
The Create Storage Policy Wizard page appears.

Follow the instructions in the storage policy creation wizard. On the Enter storage policy name page of the wizard (the second page), select the Provide the OnCommand Unified Manager Server information check box.

For Storage Pools, do one of the following:

From the Storage Pool list, select a storage pool.

To add a storage pool, click Add, and then follow the wizard for storage pools.

In the Review your selections page, click Finish.
Under the Storage Policies node, the storage policy with primary snap copy (for local snapshot storage) and primary classic copy (for backup copy to the storage pool) appear.
