Adding an Access Node

You can add access nodes for CockroachDB.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Big data.

    The Big data page appears.

  2. Click Add cluster.

    The Configure Big Data App appears.

  3. Select CockroachDB, and then click NEXT.

    The Configure CockroachDB Cluster page appears.

  4. On the Access Node section, click + button.

    The Perform remote install on node page appears.

  5. Select one of the following installation methods:

    • To install software on the computer, click Select this method to install software packages on your computer, and then enter the following information:

    • In the Host name box, type the host name.

    • from the OS Type list, select the operating system that is installed on the server. For information about supported OS versions for access node, refer to system requirements.

    • From the Credential list, select an existing credential or add a new credential. To add a new credential, proceed as follows:

      Steps to add a credential
      1. Click +.

        The Add Credential dialog box appears.

      2. From the Credential Vault list, select a credential vault to store, share, and update account credentials with shared resources in your environment.

      3. In the Credential account box, enter the credential account that has access to the database server.

      4. In the User account box, enter the user account that has access to the database server.

      5. To use an SSH key, move the Use SSH key toggle to the right and then enter the SSH key path.

      6. In the Password/Passphrase box, enter the password for the user account.

      7. Click Save.

    • In the SSH port number box, enter the port number.

    • Move the Use SSH key toggle key to the right, and then choose the ssh key path.

    • In the Installation Location, enter the location to install the software package.

    • To reboot the servers in the server group after the installation, move the Reboot if required toggle key to right.

    • To complete an installation when the software is already installed on the server, click Select this method to complete the installation if the software packages are already installed on your computer, and then in the Host name box, enter the host name.

  6. Click Install.
