Create an AI application instance for your Databricks account. Commvault automatically creates a default subclient with Unity Catalog database objects and workspace non-data objects.
You can configure user-defined subclient to backup and protect specific data at a particular time or frequency. For information about creating a subclient, see Configure a table group for Databricks backups
To configure backups for Databricks, follow these steps:

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > AI & Analytics.

Click Add AI application.

Select Databricks, and then click Next.

From the Access nodes list, select an access node, and then click Next.

Select an existing backup plan, or click the add button to create a new backup plan.

Click Next.

Enter a name for the Databricks instance.

Enter the Databricks account ID.

For Databricks authentication, select existing credentials, or click the add button to create credentials for a Databricks account.

Enter a name for the credentials.

For Client ID, enter the client ID you are assigned when the service principal is created in Databricks account.

For Client secret, the client secret you generated when creating your service principal.

Enter a description, and then click Save.

For Storage credentials, select existing credentials for Azure app registration, or click the add button to create new credentials.

Enter a name for the credential.

For Application ID, enter the application ID for the tenant.

For Tenant ID, enter the tenant ID for the Azure account.

For Application secret, enter the secret key for the application.

From the Environment list, select the Azure environment.

Enable the Show endpoints option to modify the Authentication endpoint, Storage endpoint, and Management endpoint.

Enter a description for the credentials, and then click Save.

Click Validate Account, and then click Next.

Select the metastores you want to backup, and then select the Storage Account for backup and restore operations.
The storage account associated with region corresponding to the metastore are available for selection.

Click Next, and then complete the configuration wizard.

To run a manual backup, go to the Databricks instance, and then in the upper-right area of the page, click Backup.
