Scheduling Auxiliary Copy Operation for a Storage Policy

You can schedule an auxiliary copy operation for all copies within a region of a storage policy, or for selected copies in that region.

Before You Begin

You must have Edit Plan, Delete Plan and Use Plan permissions.

Procedure

1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.

   The Plans page appears.

2. From the Plans list, click the plan.

   The Overview page of the plan appears.

3. Click the Storage policies tab.

   The Regions page appears.

4. Perform one of the following based on your requirement:

   • To schedule auxiliary copy operation for all copies in the region:

     1. Click Action icon in the top right corner, and then select Run auxiliary copy.

        The Run auxiliary copy dialog box appears.

     2. Click Schedule.

   • To perform auxiliary copy operation for a specific copy in the region, complete the following steps:

     1. Expand the region.

        The Copies section appears.

     2. Click Action icon for the copy, and then select Run auxiliary copy.

        The Run auxiliary copy dialog box appears.

     3. Click Schedule.

   The Add schedule dialog box appears.

5. In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for the schedule.

6. From the Frequency list, select one of the following:

   • Daily
   • Weekly
   • Monthly
   • Yearly
   • Continuous

7. Under Repeat, specify how often the job should run (in number of days).

   • To configure execution intervals, select Repeat Every and specify the interval (for example, every 8 hours).
   • Define the time window during which the job should run.

8. Under Range of Recurrence, configure the following:

   • Start Date: Select a date from the calendar.
   • End: Choose either Never End (default) or specify a custom end date.

9. Click Schedule to save the configuration.
