In Office 365, you can perform both in-place restore operation and out-of-place restore operation.
To perform an in-place restore operation, you can restore documents, lists, and libraries to the same path on the same client from where they were backed up.
To perform an out-of-place restore operation, you can restore documents, lists, and libraries to a different path from where they were backed up.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > SharePoint Server > Office 365.
-
Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.
-
Click View Content.
-
Select the items that you want to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box appears.
-
Depending on the type of restore operation you are performing, complete one of the following tasks:
-
To run an in-place restore operation, select the Restore to same folder check box.
-
To run an out-of-place restore operation, verify that the Restore to same folder check box is not selected. Click Browse to select the destination path.
You can also restore the documents from SharePoint to a disk. For more information, see Restoring Documents to a Disk.
-
-
To overwrite the existing data at the destination with the data that is getting restored, select Unconditional Overwrite.
-
Click OK.
Notes
-
You cannot restore individual version of a document in Office 365. If you had multiple versions of a document, and one of the versions got deleted, then you will have to restore all the versions of that document again.
-
If you are restoring the documents to the root, then select the root folder (/) as the destination. If you are restoring to a subsite, then select a subsite folder as the destination.
-
You cannot rename the files during a restore operation.
-
You cannot restore a document to an existing library. Library is created at the destination during the restore operation.
-
You can only restore document libraries from SharePoint to a disk. If you try to restore a list to a disk, all the items in the list are not restored.
