Configuring Azure Communication Service to Send Emails

Azure Communication Services (ACS) enables Commvault to send email notifications, alerts, and other transactional messages through Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following:

  • Access to the Azure portal

  • One of the following Azure RBAC roles:

    • Contributor role on a Resource Group

    • Contributor role on a Subscription if you must create a new Resource Group

  • Access to modify DNS records on your domain registrar for custom domain configuration (required only for production deployments with custom domains)

To enable Azure Communication Services for sending emails, start by creating an Azure Communication Service resource. Then, configure an Email Communication Service and set up your domain. Next, establish your authentication mechanism by choosing either access keys or Microsoft Entra ID. Finally, integrate these credentials into Commvault.
