You can configure a subclient to run block-level backups of the Microsoft SQL databases.
Note
Starting with SP42, new configurations can use Volume Copy block-level backups by default. The Optimize for table-level restore option will be deprecated. See, Enabling Volume Copy Block-Level Backups for SQL Databases from the Command Center.
Procedure
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The Overview page appears.
-
On the Instances tab, click the SQL instance.
The instance page appears.
-
On the Subclients tab, click the subclient that you want to run block-level backups from.
-
In the Settings section, move the Optimize for table level restore toggle key to the right.
Note
After enabling block-level backup on a subclient, the next backup operation is always converted to a full backup.
