Exit a tenant from a source ring

Use this procedure to completely exit a tenant from a SaaS environment. These tenants will still have access to recover any backed up data.

Requirements

  • Confirm that the tenant no longer requires source-ring resources.
  • If the tenant plans to host on their own infrastructure, ensure they have either a restore-only license or proper software licenses for their environment.

Procedure

  1. Identify the tenants that you want to exit to the new ring.
  2. Tag the tenants in the CommServe database as exiting tenants.
  3. Provision the destination infrastructure, including access nodes, index servers, MediaAgents, and network gateways.
  4. Verify connectivity between the destination infrastructure and the target storage resources.
  5. Restore the CommServe database to the destination CommServe instance.
  6. Repoint the tenant clients to the new CommServe environment.
  7. Update network routes to direct traffic to the destination MediaAgents and network gateways.
  8. Apply isolation controls between the source and destination CommServe environments.
  9. Generate and provide the CommServe database dump to the tenant after all other tenant configurations have been cleared.
