Restore a File of a OneDrive for Business User to a File Location

You can restore a OneDrive for Business file to a file location.

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Microsoft 365.

    The Microsoft 365 Overview page appears.

  2. On the Apps tab, click the app.

    The Overview page of the app appears.

  3. On the Users tab, on the upper-right area of the page, click Restore.

    The available Restore options tool appears.

  4. To restore individual files, select Restore file, and then click Next.

  5. Select the files to restore and then on the upper area of the page, click Restore. You can also search for a file from the Search box.

    The Restore Options tool appears.

  6. On the Destination tab, select File Location.

  7. Specify the location to restore the files to, and then click Next:

    • From the Server list, select a server to restore the users to.

    • Beside the Path box, click Browse, select a folder location, and then click Save.

    The Options tab appears.

  8. Configure any of the restore options, and then click Next:

    • To avoid restoring file permissions, select Skip file permissions.

    • To include deleted items in the restore, select Include deleted items.

    The Review tab appears.

  9. Review your selections, and then click Submit.

    The Summary tab appears.

  10. Click Close.
