Clustered File System Storage
Disk libraries are supported on clustered file systems such as Global File Systems (GFS), Cluster File Systems (CFS), IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS), and Polyserve File System.
Note
GFS2 is not supported for use as a disk library target due to locking / performance issues that do not scale.
Low Cost Long Term Storage or Cold Storage
Commvault supports data backups on high capacity, low cost, and long term storage disk devices, also known as the cold storage devices. These cold storage devices are beneficial for storing dormant data which is not necessarily accessed regularly by organizations but might still be of use.
Example
Spectra Logic Verde DPE (Digital Preservation for Enterprise). You can use Spectra Logic Verde DPE as a disk target and set up long term retention for extended time period.
GFS2
GFS2 is not supported for use as a disk library target due to locking / performance issues that do not scale.
