Verify that your environment meets the system requirements for the Unified Data Vault.
| Component | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Supported on deduplication-enabled plans | The primary copy must have dedupe enabled. For non-deduplication plans, you can still use Unified Data Vault by disabling deduplication at the storage policy level. See Planning for Deduplication. |
| S3 endpoint (MediaAgent) | Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.3 to 9.5 Rocky Linux 8.3 to 9.5 *At least one Linux MediaAgent is required on the plan. |
Storage Types
Unified Data Vault supports multiple storage backend types. Select the appropriate storage type based on your deployment model and requirements:
| Storage Type | Description | Use Case | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air Gap Protect (AGP) | Immutable, air-gapped storage for cyber resiliency and ransomware protection. | Critical data requiring offline, immutable copies for compliance or security. | Software and SaaS deployments |
| Bundled Storage | Managed storage provided as part of SaaS subscription. | SaaS tenants using standard cloud-based storage. | Software and SaaS deployments |
| Cloud Storage | Public cloud storage from providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. | Deployments requiring cloud-based storage with flexibility and scalability. | Software and SaaS deployments |
| HyperScale X (HSX) | Scale-out storage architecture with integrated deduplication and high availability. | Large-scale deployments requiring performance, scalability, and data protection. | Software deployments |
| Disk Storage | Traditional disk-based storage libraries using local or network-attached storage. | Standard on-premises deployments with existing disk infrastructure. | Software deployments |
