Creating Disk Filters for VMware

Browse is only available for Streaming VM groups and not available for IntelliSnap enabled VM groups.

To exclude specific VM disks from backup operations, you can create a disk filter for a VMware VM group.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Virtualization.

    The Virtual machines page appears.

  2. On the Hypervisors tab, click the hypervisor.

    The hypervisor page appears. The VM groups area displays summary information for any existing VM groups.

  3. On the VM groups tab, click a VM group.

  4. In the Content section, click Manage.

    The VM group content dialog box appears.

  5. Move the Define Disk Filters toggle key to the right to exclude specific VM disks or configure a rule to exclude VM disks:

    • To exclude specific VM disks, click Browse, and in the Browse virtual machines dialog box, select the VM disks.

    • To exclude a group of VM disks, click Add rule, and in the Add disk filter dialog box, configure settings for the filter rule, and then click OK.

Click OK.
