Use the following guidelines to set up IBM iSeries hosts:

To improve backup-restore throughput by going over a fibre channel, use the IBM i File System Agent with Commvault VTL (Virtual Tape Library). For more information, see IBM i File System Agent with Commvault VTL.

To ensure that the deduplication metadata required for IBM iSeries hosts is accurately generated, enable the iSeries Backup option in the storage pool associated with the IBM iSeries host. For more information, see Create a Storage Pool.
Also, ensure that the Dedup Block Size is set to 4 KB in the VTL library associated with the IBM iSeries host. For more information, see Modifying the Deduplication Settings for a VTL.
