Create a storage pool to setup the physical storage used to store the virtual tape data on the Commvault VTL 2.0.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, click Storage Pools.
The Configured Pools page appears.

Click Add Pool, to add the default pool.
Note
The first pool is considered as the Default pool which holds the deduplication tables for the other pools in the associated VTL host. It is recommended to use the Default pool exclusively for the deduplication tables.

In the Pool Name box, enter the name for the pool.
Note
Recommended to name this pool as Default for easier identification.

Select Enable Dedupe Metadata for the default pool.

Click Submit.
The Default pool will be displayed under the Configured Pools list.

Click Add Pool, to add a new additional pool for the data.
The Add Storage Pool dialog box appears.

In the Pool Name box, enter the name for the pool.
If necessary, configure additional options as described in Add Storage Pool.
Note
Deduplication will be enabled automatically for this pool.

Select iSeries Backup if you have an IBM iSeries host as the backup target. This will ensure that the deduplication metadata required for IBM iSeries hosts is accurately generated.

Click Submit.
